Best LT1 Emissions Legal Header/Exh. System?
Hello All
I'm looking for the best overall emission legal exhaust system. Header to tail for a Forced 396 LT4. I know this is kinda lacking all the info but..
Over all what Headers, with air and EGR?
Cats? I have to run 2!
Then Cat back system?
The Mufflex 4" kit looks good and I have read other really like them. But I know there are other options!
Does anyone out there make a full kit? I was looking at the Mac full Mids with cated Y pipe. But cant find out any info on the system for a big inch setup?
Anyone that can help me???
Thanks
Ross

depends on the inspector checkin it, mine passed full visual and sniffer. if they're leniat enough go for longtubed with emission, mine are great, get a good exhaust shop and have em fab up a y-pipe with two cats (trust me, will fit much better than some mass produced piece) and then pick what sounds best from there back www.ls1sounds.com is good for that

I know I can go to a shop, but I have a good mig and a bunch of know how. So far I'm thinking about a nice set of Mid Tube's with all the emission fittings. Into 2 high flow cats Ypiped into a Muflex 4" catback.
I hear all about guys hitting pavement with long tubes! I want to keep my clearence!
Can you run a L.T. setup and not have them hanging on the street? If so what set-up?
Thanks

kinda depends on luck, if you arent lowered usually you'll be ok but you could get a bad set of headers, mine have about 6" of clearance but some people arent so lucky, mids will work great tho over the stock manifolds. most mids come with a y-pipe but you'll probably have to flange in the cats, i say to flange them in so you can remove them if you want after emissions. just make sure that if you do this to get smaller cats so those dont cause clearance issues.
