Some states require shorty headers to remain emissions compliant. Bob

Man I wouldn't mind them but I'm working on suspension problem right now.

Shorties unless you are making a ton of hp are fine.longtubes on a bolt on car are really useless.

Thanks everyone for being supportive, I appreciate it.
Here in Indiana we can run long tubes and get away with it. If it was my car and I lived in a state where you can use long tubes, I would do so.
There are states though that enforce pollution controls, and long tubes place the catalytic converters further back, which takes them longer to heat up. These states do not allow the use of long tubes, and the shorty headers are much better than the factory manifolds.

This C5 Corvette has shorty headers on it that we installed, and it makes 705 rwhp. Bob

To whoever posted this "Shorties are not considered the Competition headers."

These headers have the Hooker Super Competition tag affixed to them by Hooker. Perhaps you may want to give them a call and let them know what you know. Bob
