Default Coolant in the car?

So i drove to my girlfriends tonight which is about 40 miles from house, mostly interstate, and when i got there i noticed that my passenger side floor mat was all wet. I lifted up the floor mat and there was a pool of coolant under it. So i am guessing i need a new heater core but i dont know for sure. I just bought the car on sat. and this is my first LT1. Its a 95 6-speed with 115,xxx miles on it. Just wondering the procedure and perhaps the cost of getting this fixed. any help would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks,
Dick

Or you could just do away with the lines that run to the fire wall and just use a short piece of hose. You can kinda see it in the pic...

it dosn't take long to change the core...
open the glove box, push in the sides, and it drops right down
after that it's only 3 bolts and 2 hoses

cost me $80 at autozone

Is that your beer holder on top of that elbow. Seriously though, did you just make your firewall plate to go around the heater hoses? I'm about to do this. The_merv has a good setup, but I just wanted to see what others were doing too. Kinda hard to see in the pic.

Removing the Heater box and acc. is really not that much weight savings. The A/C is what is heavy.
