Default is this worth it?

ok i am gettin headers soon probably pacesetter long tubes am i was woundering i am going to have a catless y-pipe with an 02 sim and was thinking about the headers does the EGR and AIR really do anything better for u or would it be a waste of time to have the shop take those out i really only have enough money for teh headers,y-pipe then for me and this guy to put them in. Any advice would greatly help!devin

If you dont have Cats then AIR is useless. EGR is for emissions and is said to help combustion chamber temps but,... eh, I dont think you'll have problems. I guess some cams handle the EGR effect with overlap or something of the sort too... I'm not an engineer here so dont quote me..

Yeh if your not getting cats, pull out the AIR and EGR. Assuming you do not have to pass emissions. The EGR is good for stock cars, but isn't a big deal really. It's purpose is to cool off the cylinder heads. It isn't any gain to get rid of AIR and EGR, but it's two less things cluttered in your engine bay that are useless.

Nope not at all! catless y-pipe would work good, how much are O2 sims?

http://speed-eng.com/ has them. Not sure if they are the cheapest.
