Default New Coil

I am looking at one of the MSD Blaser Coils..
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
I am putting a new Coil in cause mine is old, and to help my spark out at the higher compression. Anyone heard anything on them?

Not to Hijack, Merv, but what are signs of a coil going bad? Mine's old too, but not sure if it's bad or not?

I had a misfiring past 5500 RPMs. That, and it was stock Coil, 110k miles old.
I got the Blaster in yesterday, that is like a night and day difference. I did find that at the Elbow of the Coil wire, it was cracked and fell apart as soon as I pulled it off. That got replaced also. It pulls wicked from 3500 to 6100, that's when it shifts. I still have a couple of pops when it is shifting from first to second, I am changing plugs before I Dyno.

My blaster coil is still holding up after 45k or so. Only time I ever have popping is if I forget to turn my fans on at a long light and see that temp gauge over 200.

I don't get above 185 with mine, and that's running hard. I think it's the plugs..I am at 11.2:1 Compression, so it's sensitive..

Yeah my car only gets hot when stuck at stupid long lights, like over two minutes or so. I normally automatically put the low fans on whenever I stop at a light, but occasionally I forget. Its like the computer forgot what to do when it gets hot though, cause the car will miss and run like *** til I get it cool again.

Car never gets hot while I'm pounding the **** out of it. 170 thermostat though, maybe thats why.

People used to say bad stuff about the blaster coil, but they don't seem to be chiming in on this thread. Always saying that the blaster coil and a CD box are bad, well no issues yet with my 6a or the coil.

My fans kick on about 30s after startup and stay on.
With the Coil, I noticed a big difference, it took off like a rocket when I got into it. Then it shot into the next gear and dug in real good. I need a stall and some sticky tires..
I figured out the 1->2 popping, it was the Engine hitting the Rev Limiter at 6500RPM cause the rear tires were spinning
