speed pro 383 pistons - HP capacity?
So for christmas, I got a set of speed pro light weight "power forged" 383 pistons for 5.7" rods, 12 cc dish, summit part# TRW-LW2605F30.
Future plans for my 11.6:1 SCR 383 build include getting a set of Ai 190's head/custom cam package after income taxes for about a 450rwhp/450rwtq setup, and I'm wondering if these pistons will take it. They seem kind of cheap and are going to require some deburring to remove sharp corners on the crowns, and I am considering swapping them for something else.
Is anyone else using these pistons that can vouch for power/rpm handling capacity? Also has anyone tested them for nitrous use? (I know they are forged, but I wanna be sure, cuz I'm not sure how stout the included tapered wrist pins are). Neither Speed Pro nor Summit has been able to help me w/ this.
Recommendations are also welcome, as I'd prefer something w/ similar dish size for 6" rods in the under $600 price range.

yeah, I am debating whether or not to put nitrous on it at all, unless someone else has done it w/ these exact pistons (not speed pros in general) and can vouch. They've been tested at my expected HP levels, but I am unsure about those tapered pins w/ nitrous. Anyone?

You need to call the manufacture of the piston's. Silvolite makes both the Keith Black piston's as well as the Speed Pro/Diamond pistons. They would be able to tell you the limits of your pistons.

have run 10's on those pistons, bought from Jeg's
with 2 stg. N20 system and 11:1 scr
but with safe, proper tune and custom comp cam for n20
cant say u will have similiar results, but they will hold up fine with safe and proper tune made 650 rwhp with those pistons on n20

1997bird: I thought Federal Mogul made/owned Speed-Pro (formerly TRW). I will call anyway, just to check it out. Do you by chance have a phone# for Silvolite?
NemeSS: those are impressive numbers.....you made that kind of power w/ no problems? How long have you been running those pistons w/ that kind of abuse?
