Depends, if you're going to run guideplates then non self aligning, if no guideplates then self aligning.

I just took a dremel cutting wheel to the supports.. called it good. Just be sure to clean out any shavings. Most people bend the supports, but I just eliminated them. No problems.

Not to hijack the thread, here, but check out this ebay deal:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...mZ290016594187

Now, the question is, does anyone have anything negative to say about this deal?

Are there better deals out there I haven't found? Where are there deals on springs? What is the meaning of life?

In a semi-related vein, I read somewhere recently that stock rocker studs may not have enough threaded length to clamp guide plates under their heads. Anyone want to weigh in on this? The rebuilt heads I recently got from ebay have what appear to be new rocker studs and I have to admit they don't have a great deal of thread length under the hex. I'd be concerned about guide plates taking away some of that thread length.

Nothing is ever simple, is it?

Cheers -- Gary

i hear nsa is the way to go because of less noise, and also they have a smaller chance of breaking off, so i have read.
