Headers, Y-Pipe, Rocker Arm questions
Hey guys and gals,
I own a '93 T/A and I have these parts EXACTLY Hooker LTs, Crane 1.6 Gold Race SA rocker arms and a Mufflex Y-pipe sitting in my room and I have afew questions.
What else do I need to install these parts?
What do I torque the rocker arms to?
o2 extensions... do I need them?
if yes, where do I get them?
Do I need any extra parts to hook this to my Magnaflow cat-back?
Should I get a TB to add on to these performance parts?
if yes, 52mm or 58mm?

You stock TB is fine, needed O2 Ext. can be got from www.thunderracing.com, adjust Rockers to lash points, then tighten. Headers are a fun project, you know how to do them?

Seeing as my car is in storage until Mid March... I'm not looking for instructions yet because I will loose them, I'm just trying to get ALL the parts I need so when I start the projects I won't need to wait for parts...

You have to adjust the Rockers at certian points. Half can be done at #1 TDC, and the other half at #6 TDC. It's not necessarily snug, you play with the Pushrod until you get resistance, and then about a 1/4 turn at the most, then tighten them down.
You need the O2's, leave them be.

There is a little notch on the Balancer. You get that pointing up, you will have your Valve Covers off anyways, look at #1 and #6 rods. Turn the Balancer in both directions a little bit, and whichever ones move, the other Cylinder is TDC. Then put the notch back to straight up, put the Rockers on according to that Cylinder, then turn the Crank ONE(1) complete turn, and do the other 8 Rockers.

Every Cylinder has a TDC, that is when it is in the Firing position, Valves closed, Rockers can be properly adjusted. #1 and #6 just happen to be the 2 key Cylinders cause they are the ones that the notch indicates on the Balancer, so you look for them 2. That, and all of the shortcuts to adjust the lash are based off of them 2.

ok so look for when both rocker arms are up/valves closed. then you do thoes rockers first, then you do the others when the balancer is turned 1 turn?
ive seen people just bolt the rockers on, and tighten them until there is barely any play in the pushrods, then run the engine and tighten them.
