Default 355 Pistons?

Need help here and new to the LT1 scene. I'm looking to get some pistons for my 355 but know which ones to go with. I'm going to reuse my stock crank and rods. So any advise?

Mahle forged power pack. It comes with rings and they're pretty good pistons for a close to stock rebuild. I'd also get some ARP rod bolts and have them resized. Those rod bolts are one of the weakest links in the stock rotating assembly.

seawolf06...I was looking at the Mahle forged power pack on Flatlander Racing and it seems to be what I was looking for. Goes for about $500 which is not bad. Thanks

Any others?

I have those TRW forged pistons and let me tell you, they are heavy. I would have done the Mahle pistons but mine were already on the rods and were very cheap.

Get the mahles I posted the exact same question about 2 weeks ago and heard very good things about the mahles. The are also the lightest you will find next to JE. I am running a scat 6" i-beam rod with mine and stock crank, and having the assembly fully balanced. also flatlander has them for the best price that i could find.

No these. They are the lightweight version.

Cnc-motorsports.com for the best prices and they will set you up with everything you need in a package deal. I saved alot going with them on my 355. I used SRP pistons and eagle I beams with ARP rod bolts. Total seal plasma moly rings and some H-series bearings.

Yeah....Thanks guys for all your advice. I went and talked to the local machine shop. He's going to be hooking me up with some TRW's at a good price plus some machine work. Looking to get a Procharger sometime shortly, so going to have to ditch the old stock heads. Is my best bet to go with AFR's or Trick Flow?

TEA seams to have some good flow numbers for their Trick Flows at a decent price. I know out of the box they don't even come close to their advertised flow #'s. I have been using AFR's, but I will be compairing the new Eliminator #'s to the TEA Trick Flows for my future customers.

How much boost can the stock crank/rods handle?

Didnt think they could do any more than like 8 psi

The stock rods are usually good to about 500 hp with ARP rod bolts, from what I've been told. Hopefully it's true since that's what I'm running. Don't know about boost applications.

From what I'm told they can handle 8 to 10 psi, but I might be wrong. I was going with the P-1SC with 8 psi so I should be all right. I figured I go ahead and put some forged rods in aswell. If someone could chime in with the max psi for stock crank that would be great??

They use hawk rods which some guys I know have used without a problem. Or if you want just the pistons you can get them for $489 with rings from them and get some Scat I beam rods.

I am running 10 psi on the stock crank but I have low comp. pistons and eagle h rods. I am right at 500 hp and it seems to be fine... Buck
