Default Nos For My Lt383?

I want to put NOS on my car... I have a 383 solid roller motor with 12.5:1 compression forged everything what would be a good kit for my set up, and how big of a shot? I was thinking a 200 shot............

Im just going to assume you mean nitrous

There are quit a few different kits out there to choose from. Some good kits are Nitrouse oxide systems(NOS), TNT, Nitrous Express etc........

depends on what kind of power youre looking to make. direct port is for people who are going all out and want a big/efficient shot. i think one of the best kits is the tnt F1 for an lt1. its all about preference and what youre looking to do.

I have mahle pistons and rings what is the biggest shot i could do. The rings are gapped for nitrous. And the crank and rods are forged callies and compstar with 4 bolt mains.

No track numbers yet, but will be hitting the dyno to dial in the NOS in late Febuary.

No one can answer that question without knowing how your motor was built. Some people are running 500+ shots all day.

Sounds a little exaggerated. IMO the average LT1 owner that is running Forged internals with Heads, Cam and Tune run from 150 to 300 shots. There may be a few that run 500 but not many

Don't forget that you have the option of running a dry kit.
I would call a few of the supporting vendors and get their take on your setup. After all they do this for a living.

For the unexpierenced "NOS" people I think the NOS 5176 kit is a good kit. Turn the bottle on and go. Dont HAVE to worry about bottle pressure your gonna get better results with high bottle pressure but can be safe high or low without running rich or lean. The system adds fuel threw the FPR by how much nitrous pressure there is. More nitrous more fuel, less nitrous less fuel. Its drawback its a dry kit and a 175 shot is the limit.

Direct port is your most efficent nitrous because of individual cylnder tuning and its a wet kit. Its drawback tough to plum.

A plate kit is a wet kit and able to spray a 250 shot.
