Don't take this the wrong way, but with the questions your asking you might want to start calling up some shops since its obvious you have no idea how much different the car will act with a cam and all the supporting mods you have to do. It's not as simple as putting a cam in there. Oh and if you want the most power, an aggresive solid roller will get you there.

its not like a bolt on like an intake. when you get a cam you have to know what you need to make it work properly. most more aggressive cams you need good tune, headers, stall if auto, heads in some cases or valvetrain work like springs rocker arms etc. it all also depends on what you are lookin for in picking a cam. i changed my mind about which cam to put in my car like 4 times.

My custom cam matches my heads, matches my stall, matches my gears.
Its one of those things were you do your homework, just don't pick a really big cam because you want the most HP.
My car may not make as much HP as some but it WILL run faster.
You need springs with the cam, rockers would help. So will long tube headers.
Stock exhaust manifolds will choke out any cam really.

you do know that a cam swap in and of itself is not going to add a lot of power without the supporting mods. You could do like you want and get the swap done then you'll have to tune it. Assuming you currently have little to no mods now, you'll want to add them to bring up the potential of the cam and in the end to optimize power you would need to get another tune probably. Why not get all the supporting mods done first, learn about your car a bit then decide what you want to do inside the motor. Doing a cam swap the RIGHT way can be expensive and its not something to be rushed. Just my 2 cents

Let's first start with this. You said your car is stock. Stay away from a new camshaft. Apparently, you will have a STEEP learning curve. You will also drop a lot of money and then wonder why your new camshaft doesnt make your car much faster.
You need to start with bolt-ons, and much power can be gained from them. An engine is a complicated air pump...The more air in and out, the more power you're going to make. That is, of course, on the simplest level. But anywho, you need to work on something like a cold air intake, then full exhaust. In my car, I'm nearing the end of that stage...Headers and true duals are waiting to go on.
Next, I will be moving to other drivetrain items before I take the leap on a cam. At least a set of gears and since I am auto...A stall as well.
Then, when I'm finally ready to look for a cam, I will be calling Lloyd Elliot, or Bret Bauer, or somebody like that. Since I will be more than likely leaving my heads stock or mildly ported and I will have a stock bottom end, I will be looking for a custom ground camshaft that's gonna give me gobs of power down low and up to about 6200 RPM.
With off the shelf cams like you would see in Jegs, you need to spin the motor well past what the stock bottom end can handle to make power.
