im planning on my top end build. so far i have
CC306
1.6RR
LT4 timing set
beehive springs or dual springs
ported LT1 heads
ported LT1 intake manifold
tune
im doing everything on my own except the head porting and manifold porting and springs.
anything else i need?

wires are brand new, plugs and opti are a year old stock replacements.

You should look into some Locks and Retainers too, also some Rocker studs. ARP has a pretty sweet bolt/nut thing that goes on the top of the washer, it has a spring built inside and makes rocker adjustments very easy. I had them on my 396, they were nice to work with.

Go with 918s.. its what is on the card for the 306.. I'm running them, they are really nice. Also titainium retainers, and whatever locks are recommended.. can't remember what they are off the top of my head. Just a suggestion. Or you could go solid roller, and get a custom cam. Wish I would have done that. Next time I will. Can't remember, what year came with hardened pushrods? May want to look into those. Good luck with the build.

The Ti retainer weighs 6 grams and the steel retainer weighs 10.8 grams. For the $200 differance, it is not worth the 4.8 grams. I know this from my own purchases of the two types of retainers. I was very angry with myself!!
