Default I have an idea for this new Edelbrock Intake.

And actually, it is a pretty simple one. Before we go buying these new intakes up, perhaps we should ask the guys at GMHTP to do a writeup on it. Installation, dyno, and of course lots of helpful pictures. We're all anxious to see if this thing is going to be worth it, so this may be an excellent way to see what we are in for!

It really would be nice if they would do it, but at the same time, I would be afraid of BS numbers. Magazines do tend to hype up some products a little bit. If they did an honest review though, it would be awesome, so we would all know if its worth $550 bucks.

awesome idea! I just shot Rick Jensen an e-mail and a link to this thread. Maybe he can chime in and let us know if this is a possibility.

See now there is the problem, most of those so interested in this are so ignorant as too believe the LT4 is much more different from the LT1 than it really is.
You would only need compare it to LT1 intakes as the LT4 intake has the same ports and plenum as the late LT1 intakes, the difference is more material above the port to seal too the LT4 head, and a mediocre red powerder coat job.

Customers need to be educated in order too force companies to invest in producing good products. That is not the case here because like I said those so ignorant as to believe the LT4 is better are the exact same ones lining up to give Edelbrock money before they even have a product to sell.

It is just sad and EXACTLY why there are such junk vendors out there as Hypercrap, Jet, B&M, Granatelli etc..

Talk about ignorant. You will notice that each of these companies makes like ONE product that isn't so great and yet he has completely singled them out and says they are junk. B&M makes great transmission parts, Granatelli makes all kinds of parts that are fine, and Hypertech won an award for that hyperpac thing.

The point is, quit bashing this intake before it even is on a car yet. Who knows, maybe there will be some gains compared to the lt1 intake, or maybe not. It looks nice and maybe people will just want it for engine dress up.

The point of starting this thread was to get away from the other thread which turned into some bickering match between you and some other guys. We have all heard your opinion so quit whining. We understand what you are saying, at least I do. If you think people are so ignorant, let them go out and buy it. I think its just nice to have another option for intakes. I just wish they came out with a new design, possibly similar to the ls1 intake, made of a composite, that would be nice.

No inside sources here. I heard it direct from Summit and Edelbrock and it was sounding more like April to me. So anyways, I canceled my order with Summit b/c I don't want to delay my motor getting built. Plus this was for the LT1 version. Sounds like the LT4 version is just a concept at this point even though there's already a part number for it.

When it comes out in June or whenever, I might take a look at it then.

Maybe shoot Car Craft a letter too. I know they like to check out new stuff too. But I dont know, the new editor is a retard, I cancelled my subscription after 10 years because I couldnt handle him having free reign. Went down the toilet quick. I liked the look of the new design, but not the way the tone of the magazine changed. ya know?
