I don't want to turn this thread into a "bash on you" thread, but seriously. I read this thread before and I didn't even want to reply to it. If someone doesn't put effort into what they say, no one will want to help you out. Especially if something is wrong with your car, and you do a lame *** explanation of what is wrong with it.

Now to your question.. wtf? Is someone really going to bring a dynamometer to your drive way?

He made this post in 5 different sections and I think he's saying that he's trying to start a dyno tuning service where he travels, which is what every tuner does and isn't anything new.

I wasn't aware of this. So people will actually bring a dyno to your house and tune your car?

No, tuners travel to your area's dyno and will tune a car.

He's saying using a mobile dyno to do it, I think?? Which is just overkill.

I cant imagine a mobile dyno being cost effective for the owner. Unless they charge an astronomical price for it, which kills business. I really dont know much about dynos but, I would think they require a very good calibration and I dont see how it would stay *****-on if you were travelling and changing elevations... Plus getting jostled around through their travels...

As for the mispellings and grammer, eh, its only a first-stage sign that something is fishy... I'll wait till I see his mullet and cut-off bon jovi T-shirt to seroiusly contemplate his competance (at face value anyway).

There was a mobile dyno in our area for a while. Back in the day, before everybody and their grandmama had one, they went to all the car shows, and races and made a killin. They also used to take it to other shops for dyno days. they have recently put it in the ground. i guess the mobile thing aint so profitable anymore. as far as traveling around to do one here one there, that just doesnt make sense.

Thats just damn funny! btw you spelled competence wrong. and grammar. but on the flip side, you did spell bon jovi correctly

I could understand someone bringing a dyno to an event for the whole day. But no one is going to bring a dyno to your house for 2 hours.

Tuning on the strip is actually better than what most tuners will come up with on the dyno.

Far as the mobile dyno thing it can work as said for shows or dyno days at speed shops without a dyno because both of those you can setup and get a couple full days out of that setup. Truely mobile and too someones home the travel and setup would be complete deal breakers.

My point exactly. Travel time, plus expenses, to tune 1 car? Before we bought our dyno, we rented a mobile a couple times. They wanted a commitment of something like a grand to come out and set up. That didnt include any tuning. That was just to run the cars.

dyno's are for people who want to brag, track tuning is what it is all about. besides unless you have a 6 speed, dynoing an automatic is pretty much useless.
