ive been looking around for an opti since mine is about to kick the bucket im pretty sure, now im looking on ebay and they say they are only for a 95-97, why arent they fitting a 94? i know they are the same engine just obd1 instead of obd2, would it fit?

92 -94 opti's are not vented. I'm also sure the length on the cam pin is different also. 95 and ups are vented but I hear the MSD Opti for 92-94 are vented.

Yeah, you need the 92-94 assuming the stock is in place now. The opti shaft is different where it connects to the cam between the 92-94 and 95-97. The older style is non-vented unless you get a complete upgrade version (MSD, Dynaspark) or you can add a MSD cap/rotor to a stock opti to gain the benefits of venting.

You need the non vented as the timing chain covers are different on the 95-97s.The non vented 92-94 is driven by a small splined shaft and has a small opening on the t-chain cover. The vented 95-97 have a much bigger opening and is driven directly off the cam with a long dowel pin.
