headers...
i have been tryin build my lt1 on a budget and i am tryin to get headers that are cost effective. the problem is that i have a 1997 ta with dual cats and it seems to be harder to get headers for it. at least on ebay its harder...lol. anyone have any suggestions on where to go to get coated headers at a cheap price? thanks.

You will probably be better off with some shorties or mid-length headers if you're going to keep your cats. Random tech makes a y-pipe with two cats. You can get it from Thunder Racing.

Pacesetters with the y-pipe that goes along with them is a good choice. Cheap and good quality. I didnt have any problems getting them installed and like someone said earlier you can have some cats welded in.

one thing to keep in mind about headers, if you have emissions testing of ANY kind where you live, long tubes under NO conditions will be street legal. not even with a catted y-pipe. if you just have a visual inspection they might pass but not if the tester knows what hes looking for. i myself am going with pacesetter long tubes without air fittings or anything because i think its stupid to have emissions hook ups with no cats.

Well it depends on where you live. I live in south tx and just about every car on the street doesnt have cats. Most camaros and t/as are loud, no one complains. Other places like cali however are strict about emissions. Which sucks.

If you plan on doing internal mods, get LT's.

Trust me, I wish I had put the LTs on as my first mod
