Default Motor Oil

what kind of motor oil would you guys recomend on a rebuilt stock lt1 in a 94 Z. it's my daily driver for the moment. do you guys recomend synthetic or just regular. what weight of oil as well. 10W or 5W? i don't want to spend alot on motor oil every time i have to change it.

i say mobil 1 5w 30 is the best. but now i started using in the summer 10w 30 because its thicker and in winter time i use 5w 30.

I just switched to synthetic. Mobil 1 5w 30. When I get the car out in the spring though I am going to run the German made Castrol Syntech 0w 30. I have heard great things about this oil. Many people on here will tell you that.

Yea the German castrol is great i was running it before i tore down my motor. My motor has 75k and i didn't found any sludge it at all.

Geez maybe someone should just sticky the longest oil thread post, so someone doesnt have to ask the same question every other week.

20-50 royal purple with the lucas oil full synthetic addative...then you can change the oil every 7500 miles. If you just rebuilt the motor I would not use sythetic oil till you have 1000-1500 miles on it...til the rings seat in...NEVER USE PENZOIL !! IMO.
