Default Fuel pump

A buddy of mine is fixing to spray a shot on his 1995 t/a. It's got a rebuilt motor with ported heads and a cam and boltons. He was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to do an in tank pump or put an inline boost a pump

The inline/boost-a-pump is somewhat like a bandaid. It can only help so much, ultimately the performance of the inline pump depends on the in-tank pump.

Besides the fact -- the in-pump is 12 years old. If it goes out then your inline pump is useless. Might as well kill two birds with one stone and put in an in-tank 255lph that'll definitely take care of his fueling needs as well as be much more reliable than the 12-year old unit in there now.

I've found the how to to cut an access panel to get to the tank, but does anyone have the how to drop the tank. I found it a few weeks ago when i thought my pump was going out, but didn't save it or anything

Get yourself a Hayne's Manual and it will tell you how to drop the tank. You have to drop the rear end to get to the tank, that is why most people just cut the hole through the top to get to the pump.
