Default Help me spend money :)

Alright here's the scoop. I have 6700 bucks to play with and have made a list of things I'd want to get for the 97 Z. Here's the list and if anyone has any suggestions on refining the list, I am more than happy to hear it.

1) LE2 Heads and Cam Package and CC Pro Mag 1.6rr ($2100)
2) Moser 9in with posi/3.73/31 spline axles ($2400?)
3) Hooker 1 3/4in LT's ($500)
4) 3in Y-pipe ($300)
5) Mad Z28 Tune ($250)
6) 3200 Stall Yank or Fuddle ($700?)

How's that parts list sound to you guys?

The money I have is from an enlistment bonus for when I finished my 6yrs in active duty and joined the guard. I didn't get **** for taxes..
My friend Nate81camaro gets back a GOOD return every year...bastard! Anyway, There really isn't much money left over after all that. I might have about another grand if something I'm waiting on pans out. I DO plan on either beefing up my tranny or gettin a 4L80E but not sure yet what to do. Finances will dictate that.

Yeah, nyucka! Hopefully the parts list we made doesn't have to much changed (meaning we did a good job on it). Get all those parts, and your car will be minty - COTTON!

I would Opt for a 12 bolt. Your not going to be going fast enough to need a 9in. And the 12 bolt will hold anything you can throw at it.

Also go with a Fuddle, best converters available, backed buy the best warrantys and upgrade services.

At what power level is he going to need a 9in? We figured if he could swing for one, he might as well go ahead and get it that way he really wouldn't have to worry about upgrading his rear dif again.

He was telling me yesterday when he was over how he wanted injectors (He must of forgot to put it in). He has K&N CAI, Catback, Granatelli MAF, 160* Thermostat (in case you missed it in his sig). He also has a cat back. We could get rid of his cats because we don't have emissions here in Wyoming. His car is gonna be such a bitch

What about getting an intake manifold? Is his stock one going to be pretty restrictive?

So I take it this Lloyd fellow would port out the intake? Anyone know how much that would be? (I'm curious)...

You can ask Lloyd yourself. His name on this site is Nighttrain66, or go to his site eportworks.com.

How about you give me $6700 and you can have my brand new 383 LE2 with LE Trickflows. I have to get this mystery crack fixed first though

I'll be eating my words, I know, but I'm just fed up with this hobby!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the 9", its the same price as a 12-bolt. i know a few heads/cam LS1's that have blown 12 bolts.

Those 12 bolts are pretty damn resiliant if they are built right, and i believe they are lighter then the 9 in. if weight is a factor I would go with a 12 bolt.

I'm pretty sure I can speak for him on the weight issue: "It's okay if the 9 inch weighs more...I'll eventually make up for in power".
