The only reason I posted this info was b/c I had seen a few threads where people were looking for another source on oil pans besides a stock vs. Canton. This oil pan by Moroso is about a $100 cheaper than the Canton oil pan.

Chrysler, Ford and GM are the only ones who can make a camshaft? Comp Cams, Harvey Crane, Engle, Chet Herbert, Ed Iskenderian all "ripped them off"??
Delco is the only one who can make a car radio? Alpine, Eclipse, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer, and Sony all "ripped them off"??
Be reasonable....

I am it's basically Moroso's R&D department for years........

If the basic design doesn't change then it's a rip off.... The Torque Thrust is a killer wheel, but you can't say a Foose or Coddington 5 spoke version is a direct copy. That pan is about as close to a direct copy of a Canton 242T as I have seen.

I'm reasonably certain that American Racing was the first to "mass market" the 5 spoke aluminum wheel, but a little voice way back in my memory bank is telling me that another company actually made the first few batches of the 5 spoke wheel. However, I'll again pose the question, Did Ansen, E-T, Appliance, and the rest, "rip-off" American Racing by selling a visually identical wheel??
Or, is your point that a small-scale company did the work to develop a "better pan", only to have a larger outfit copy the design? AND, factor in the point that HP oil pans for 4th gen f-bodies are not a high volume item, so the possibility of return on investment is low.....
