hey everybody i got a couple of questions for ya. first, where do i go to find CAI besides the summit catalog? cuz all they got is the SLP CAI and how do other prices compare to the $280? is there any significant difference between brands? and lastly is it necessary to change my MAF when i slap a CAI on the motor? if i remeber correctly someone told me that the MAF is only gonna let in the amount of air it needs to run the engine at factory requirements. he explained that that's why taking your air filter off (ya know that cheap trick some people try to get past the restrictive air box?) really wont help you because the MAF only takes what it needs. anyway i was looking at buying one in a couple of weeks after a paycheck or too, and i wanna go with worth-while parts. thanks for your time.

You can check places that are listed in the ad column ie. thunderracing.com, speedinc.com and then I like to find the exact same product on ebay and see if it can get a bargain from some one.
As far as the MAF is concerned it only measure the mass of air flowing past it ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_airflow_sensor), then it adjusts fuel and spark accordingly... I believe

ws6 is right. The maf has nothing to do with the amount of air that comes in. It s only function is to tell the pcm how much and how dense the air coming in is. A stock maf is good for applications of around 450hp before it needs to be upgraded.

Leave your MAF alone.
