Default New edelbrock lt1 and lt4 intake.

Anyone see the new edelbrock lt1 and lt4 intakes in the new summit? Prices are not as bad as I expected but still pretty high? Anyone here going to get them one?

Yeah I noticed that. The book I received actually had the lt1 and lt4 seperated. The lt4 was red like the gm version and was $464. The book didn't say anything about a ship date.

You guys need to spend 5 minutes maybe and do a search or go over a couple of the last pages. This intake has been talked about extensively in like 4 threads.

i dont see how that intake is any better than a stock lt4 or lt1 for that matter
since it looks like the "air gap" design has taken place of the plenum volume area, as if the lt's intake had alot of plenum area to begin with
u never know though'

its a waste of money just port your intake manifolds to the lt4 manifold. only other difference between lt1 and lt4 intake manifold is the runners in the lt4 are bigger thats why its higher. i say the edelbrock lt4 intake is a waste of money

In a stock LT4 intake the runners ARE NOT bigger.
GIZMO took this picture to try to correct that myth.

LT1-LT4 comparison
The LT4 HEAD ports are larger and the intake has more material above the ports to seal to the taller port in the head.

LOOK AT THE PICTURE. Maybe follow that up with a SEARCH.
A LOT of people already know this, I am only unique in my stuborness about correcting people when they get it wrong. Most guys are just too tired of constantly arguing with those who refuse to believe that they do not bother to try and correct anyone anymore.

I still think your full of ****,then why didnt chevy use the lt1 intake manifold on the lt4 heads and save some money. Please explain this to me! The lt1 intake manifold will not bolt right up to the lt4 heads. I dont know why you keep telling people to just get an lt1 and have it matched to the lt4 its not that easy.

I'm with CapriceMGR. We've argued this sooo many times. I've owned both, and compared them side by side. The LT1 and LT4 ports are the friggin' same. The LT4 manifold has more material above the port so it will seal to a larger head port. End of story. Please accept this as fact and move on.

And I still think you are mentally deficient. Here is the thread where GIZMO offers the picture I posted a link too above as well as other pictures. I do not know that you are of sufficient mental capacity to be helped but this will help people with basic reasoning and observation skills.

I saw a reply to post in my email with someone mentioning the fact that the Lt4 intake was somehow superior to the LT1. I had only imagined dwayne would respond and do some schooling

I have stacks of these intakes and I can tell you for a fact that these guys are telling you the truth.

Have you ever actually looked inside an LT1 intake?

I think that you will see some performance gains with the Edelbrock intake on a modified LT1. I doubt that you will see much (if anything) on a stock motor. The extra runner length will be a plus. Also the "Air Gap" design should help out with the heat soak related issues that the LT1 suffers. It will be killer if you ice your intake before making a pass. The plenum does not appear to be any smaller than an LT1 intake. Which is plenty big enough for most applications.

Take Care,

Daren
