95 Z28 Coolant leak passenger side
I bought a 95 Z28 with 137K miles for $300 yesterday.. and it supposidly had a bad head gasket on the pas. side of the motor and a bad fuel pump. So I finally got the fuel pump to cycle (couple of nice hits on the tank ). Then It's running good so I start to fill up the radiator and coolant starts to flow through the system and all of a sudden there's steam from burning coolant. SO I look down the passenger side and see a pool of coolant. The **** was pouring out as I poured more in ... So basically what I'm wanting to know is.. are there any coolant lines on the rear passenger side of the motor? I can't see a bad head gasket pissing out coolant like this. It doesn't have to be running to leak while you pour it into the rad also... Unless coolant can defy gravity I doubt it's a head gasket leak. Most likely a heater hose or freeze plug.. Can anyone help on how to get at and check some of this stuff haha. I'm assuming removal of the passenger manifold is necessary?

I tried to get my Camera down in the engine bay there to see what I couldn't because of the damn factory manifolds! I don't know if anyone can see something I can't.

Will make it easier to get back there.. probably just have to replace the gaskets. I remember when I pulled my heads, I disconnected those lines... was a real pain. Took a lot of yelling and hitting.

Those bolts use the same seals as the oil pan drain. There are two for each side. You might not be able to get the bolts out with the engine in the car. Some people have. I know I couldn't.

When I did my head gaskets I pulled both heads off the car at the same time, I couldn't get the damn thing off with it in the car. I also reinstalled both heads at the same time, again due to the stupid tube.
The Haynes says to use a back up or back off wrench, I've still never figured out what the hell one of those are, but maybe if you know and have one you can get it off with it in the car.

about the bolts - are you wanting to replace them? If so, know this - they are special, the coolant flows through them. You would be best off replacing the whole piece.
10108635 - comes with pipe, bolts and seals. They have upgraded the bolts as well. The head of the bolt is taller than the factory installed ones. Better to get a wrench on.
