Default lt4 springs and rockers

would you guys use lt4 valve springs and the 1.6 rocker arms with a cam as big as gm 847 or maybe even bigger. just wondering if the springs would hold up

Definitely not those springs, I think some 918's are what most people use.

I think the rockers are fine, though.

you will probably need all new stuff man. those springs are barely big enough to handle the hot cam and have a max lift of .525, and the 1.6 rockers are only good to .575 lift which if i'm not mistaken you will be above correct?

yes that is true but a cc306 is right at the max as it's max lift is around .576 (which i would still be a bit weary as i do not like to live on the edge when it comes to my valvetrain)

a gm847 with 1.6 lift is around .575/.595 so it is upto you but that is quite a bit over the recommended max lift for me to feel comfortable

Patriot Performance dual springs are available for the LT1.... good to .650 lift. Might need -.050 keys if you use SA rocker arms and have .250 tip valves.

Advantage: COST! The 918s are spendy; the PP are 250 or so and include seats, titanium retainers, keys, and all.

Be SURE to consider installed height and seat/open pressures whatever spring you go with.
