If its not important remove it all. I did, and the car seems to run much better now. Just be aware that you might have trouble getting that inspection sticker.

Take it off. Take it all off. 
EGR block off plates for the back of the manifold, and get non emissions long tube headers. Remove the A.I.R. pump and related tubing and hoses and it will clean up your engine compartment a lot and make working on the motor easier.
