Default flywheel question

I just put a 383 in my camaro but did not take the weight off of the flywheel when i put it back together. It has a bad vibration at about 3000rpm is this a result of the weight on flywheel. Also if it is what and how do i need to take care of this?

If your new engine is internally balanced, then yes your gonna have to take the flywheel back off and have it neutrally balanced. Most machine shops can do it, it cost me 90 bucks when i had mine done.

What kind of a flywheel is it. Is it an SLP. If not just take it to a machine shop and have the flywheel internally balanced or buy an internal balanced flywheel.

yes i know where the flywheel is. I put the whole motor together. The only reason i ask is i was told last night by another member of ls1tech that i could do it with out dropping the tranny. Just thought maybe there was something about it i did not know, unlike yourself.

I have not driven the car since i put the motor in. When i put the motor in and started it. I noticed the vibration and started to do some searching, and found that i needed to have the flywheel internaly balanced also.........maybe I should have gone and "magically" had someone put my motor together for me....... thanks for all your input really appreciate it,and thanks for the link to the TCI flexplate but mine is a M6.
