on my girlfriends car ,96Z28, her ses light came on after she had a new muffler put on. dont know if its related. the code that came up was for the egr valve. since im a thirdgen guy and i dont run emissions stuff or care for it. is there anything else that could cause this code to be thrown? also before just replacing it what do i need to check first?

Some of those cars are real bitchy..expecially the OBDII cars..it's alright. Give it time and see if it goes off.
