Default Was thinking about deleting AC?

Was wondering if anyone else has done it and how hard is it?
I want to clean up the engine bay and lose some weight.
I know I will need the 1LE ac delete bracket, where can I buy this?
After taking out the condenser do you have to change anything with the radiator and fan mounting.
One other thing how did you guys get rid of the refrigerant?
Thanks for any help.

How hard is it? On a scale from 1 to 10 its a 5 if your only removing the compressor and the condenser in the engine bay. If your getting rid of everything behind the dash its a 9.
Keep an eye on the for sale section, the 1LE AC delete comes up for sale every so often.
Radiator and fan mounting stay the same.
The refrigerant? I stuck a flat blade screwdriver in the valve and let it fly.
Keep your face out of the way though.

I got it all out, better if the Engine is out, lot more room to play with. That was fun, cause I wasn't really worried about tearing that all to hell. When I finished, it looked like this..

The Merve, ya I had seen a post from what you did with your AC and when I pull the motor I plan on doing the same thing. It looks really good, nice and clean.
So then it is pretty straight foward, let out the refrigerant, disconnect the lines, remove the condensor, and take out the compressor and add the 1 LE pulley and bracket. Does that sum it up or am I leaving something out?
Thanks again guys

The pic doesn't look the same, but the description is the same as the 1LE.

Pretty much. Just unplug and disconnect all the AC junk, and take it out. Then you might have to smash apart the box on the Fire Wall a little bit. Get it flush and get a panel on it, and you are good.
