Default I need help!!!

My 1996 lt1 is missing and popping under load and hesitates real bad. I have tried different sized injectors. this motor has just been rebuilt. i was thinking that maybe it is something to do with timing. If it is how would I adjust the timing?

Here is a mod list: CC306 cam, 30# injectors, long tube headers, Manual steering, ac delete, smog delete, the exhaust is open at the moment but the O2s are in, mail order tune, underdrive pullies.

If its tuned for the cam and other things, that should be fine. You say the exhaust is open, but where? After the headers?
Could be the opti - did you put a new one in when you did the cam?

I don't know much but I'm going with opti as the culprit.

I did not change the opti itself but i did put an msd cap and rotor and new plugs and wires. the exhaust consists of long tube headers and a piece of pipeabout 6 to 8 inches long with the o2s in it.

I would recheck all your plugs and wires first. Then check the opti. I know it's obvious, but you did mark the rotor before you took it off so that it wasn't installed 180* backwards correct? Timing chain could also be off. My guess is crossed plug wires, though, as that's what happened to me.

It's very difficult to check the timing on the LT1.

To check the computer timing, yes, but that only tells you what the pcm's ignition timing is. It doesn't tell you what timing the engine is actually seeing, for instance, if two plug wires are crossed or timing chain is off.
