Default Any numbers for edelbrocks lt1 manifold yet?

I did a search first on the forums didnt find anything clearly stating anything useful. Also googled only found "increases hp in the 1500-6500 range!". A 1 hp increase is an increase in horsepower so no help there either.

Anyone hear anything yet, maybe a magazine will test it soon if not!

cross our fingers.

Couldnt you just add on a Dog house" like others have onto the stock intake manifold?

I dunno if I should laugh or laugh at the above post?

My only concern is once I get teh control arms and the rest of the suspension goodies on there, is it along with a TB and nice intake along with some headers and exhaust going to make a nice difference.

I dont want to fly just yet the car has 106k on it, I think the crank and crap could use some loving.

Also I know this might be blasphemy but I have a 95 Z28 with a 6speed. Just how difficult would it be to drop an LS1 in there??

I dont see the point in the one for LT1 heads, but for LT4s I just look at it as a stock repalcment for the GM LT4 which is no longer made.

So are you saying that you will never run one?

I doubt I will ever run one.
If after they come out they prove to be worth something over a ported stocker I might be convinced otherwise. Frankly for the cost involved you can do a lot to a stocker to improve it. You are in a different position and look for as cast stuff to fit your racing class, most of us don't have that limitation.

I will also say my definition of proof is different than most, if HotRod tests it and claims 15hp I will laugh, but on the otherhand one of the b-body engine builders plans to test one. His efforts I trust, even as a vendor he looks out for his customers more than his own bottom line.

I just think all these kids thinking as cast it is going to be great just because a name is attached to it need to settle down and be objective. Last I heard the LT1 one was not going to fit bone stock heads anyway so there goes a chunk of the market that wants it.
Most of the info I have read on it has been on this forum where several times Edelbrock representatives have offered info, it is all in the archives for those who care to read it.

I genuinely hope it is a good product, but at the same time doubt it will be worth the cost or that it will deliver much power, as I have said in other posts, look at their LT1 heads.

I think the only way I'd buy one is if I got LT4 heads.

OK, I'm gonna jump in here.

I would doubt that the Edelbrock manifolds "make" much more power than the stock ones. The real difference is the fact that they are the air gap design. They’ll certainly make more power under real driving conditions where everything under the hood is hot. If somebody was to make a comparison, it should be in a car, on a hot day, out on the road. The Edelbrock manifolds won’t make more power but they should have less power loss in hot conditions.
This is where the real advantage of the air gap design is. You won’t buy it because it makes more horsepower. You’ll buy it because it will perform better when hot.

Any dyno comparison between stock and Edelbrock manifolds won’t show the real world driving advantages.

^ i agree^ I am also a cheap *** tho, ill stick to stock ported till i am making real power, and i doubt the 95 Z28 will ever be more than a daily driver. But for those that want a LT4 desighn and GM no longer offers it and want new not used, there you go.

i have to say i think this is the biggest advantage of the intake and i would guess the only reason edelbrock ever even considered producing these parts. with the lt4 discontinued there is now a market for it.

No one thinks that the longer runners will help low end and mid range tq? I was thinking about this after reading the results from the Super Ram intake on the LT1.

longer runners?? I recall the guy who had one measured a 1/4" difference between the stocker and the Edelbrock one. Also I was looking at those pics, and the interior casting looks horrible on the Edel unit.
