hey I have a simple quick question about the LT1
QUESTION. . .
If you remove the radiator hoes or have a hole in them will the engine start and stay running?
I know eventually it will run hot but will it at least start? The reason I asked is I hade a hose burst and the car will start up but when I give it gas or let it sit for more them 10 seconds it shuts off. .

Yea, the coolant system really has little to do with it running. Only when it gets heatsoaked with it cause problems, and if you let it run too long it'll seize from heat and friction.
I would say when your hose went, your opti-spark (distributor) got soaked and it fried it basically. If you're lucky, it's a vacuum leak.

runs for 10 sec? Does it run really rough trying to die in that 10sec? When the hose burst, did it by chance get coolant on the opti and other electronics? Coolant does wonders on those things...

yea sounds like maybe a coil or opti problem, when I first got the TA I went to the carwash and blasted the engine haha stupid me, well I wet the coil connector I was driving and it was ok, then my tach went bye bye, and the car started misfiring.
anyways good luck, I would mess with the coil first since it is easier to get to, then if you have no luck check the opti, if the opti is bad sometimes it gives off a timing reference code. check for that too

OH CHIT!! Sounds bad to me I think like the others stated previously that it may be your opti or coil acting up on you. Usually when they get soaked with coolant they tend to malfunction.
