Default Question on cams

I am pretty sure but wanting to verify, can you not use a cam for any 87+ SBC in a LT1?? So long as it Requires thrust button and wear plate?? Just wanting to verify this. Thanks for any help. it is a 95 model motor with center dowel for opti.

Some 87+ cams will need the center hole drilled out to accept the opti shaft, my old ZZ4 cam required this modification, and of course have to make sure the dowel pin is the right length.

You won't need the center drilled out if you have a 95, but not sure about everything else. I guess the gear is still on the rear of the cam and make sure the dowel pin is the right length for the opti.
