Who makes them still? Could not find it on TPIS's site or Airizona S&M????

How much CUI and power can a Holley 58MM TB handle?

Hmm...call ASM dude they still make them, where I got mine last Sep, unless they quit. You'll get a ton of opinions but very vew have actually benchmarked with a dyno what it's capable of. Therefore on average from being on here 5 yrs or so I'm estimating a 58mm would suffice for well over 700+ and the mono would probably do a little better maybe. Only reason I bought an ASM was I was using a loanerand knowing a SuperVic was in the works it made sense longterm.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^thats not an as&m, as&m has offset t/b plate holes and has only 3 butterfly screws if im not mistaken. looks like a machined stocker to me.

this is one fine piece of art, after 3 brand new Holley 58mm's (all warrantied) they would stick due to their design flaw which supposedly was fixed but wasn't. I've never had any issues with the ASM.

You know I need to check, I don't remember now if we did or not, seems like we did, I'll check when I head out there in a few minutes, if I did it would have been logically at the bottom center closer to to the IAC motor.

Regarding the monoblade on a LT1 motor I have heard a few theories. One is with the monoblade the air is slower going through the throtte body and is better able to make the turn into the front runners. This results in better air distribution.

Another is it increases the plenum volume somewhat and the LT1 plenum needs more cubic inches. The third is that atmospheric pressure replenishes the air in the plenum and the least restriction posible is best.

I know the "Air Doctor" here in Southern California pushes the monoblade for the LT1 based on his dyno results.

I have a New AS&M Mono to go on my Hogans 18* intake. I also have a new Nitro Daves Mono plate kit coming for the Second or third stage

BTW playing with EA3.3 it was worth 30+ HP over a 58mm in sim's

Ok it's exactly where in the middle about a 1/4" from the bottom center. Not quite an 1/8" hole I don't think but close, tiny bit smaller maybe.

Hehehehe. You have a lot stronger motor than I'm running. On DynoSim mine only shows a 6hp increase over the 58mm throtte body. However if I knew for sure I could get 6hp I would go for it.

Regarding the hole in the throttle blade. If you start out small you can always increase it if need be. Harder to make the hole smaller.

I found it was the restriction at 6,700-7,000. After switching from 1000CFM(58mm) to just 1250CFM(50CFM less then Mono is usually rated) I lost the restriction and picked up power through the curve. The sims were running in the mid to high 600hp range with a small solid roller.

no ****? Funny when I ditched the Holly POS 58, I lost about 6hp and figured it was the humidity, really bad 100 deg day and massive rain that morning, miserably humid, shrugs....I'm hoping with this new SR cam and a SuperVic it'll just blow my old 500rwhp away and shine, we'll see. Thanks for sharing that, cool you benchmarked the difference.

True true, well like I said I had to buy one, had a loaner and when she was almost built last July, had to break out the cash so it made sense I guess. We'll see. I'm toying with the idea of a 4-bl 1550cfm TB on the SuperVic ...if that don't work I'll try a F*&^ing 4-bl 1050 Race Demon... ...whatever works...I'm going to find something that works right...
