This is very subjective. Everyone has different tastes.
I run Hooker LTs with purple horny header mufflers that have turndowns just behind the front seat.

I love the way it sounds but I am an old school guy who loves the sound of a glasspack.

Mine is dumped with bullet mufflers and love the sound. Also when you dump you will get drone but mine is just a weekend car so I can live with it. If it’s a DD than you might not want to make that sacrifice.

before i finished my exhaust (before i had even bought my catback) i ran with open pipes (mac mids and y) and i loved the way it sounded, but the resonance is pretty ridiculous... i couldnt talk to people when i was accelerating, or in anything but 4th gear... its also my DD, so while it wasnt a HUGE burden to me, it did kinda get on my nerves at times.

here are some clips, one is with the open y, and the other with a borla catbcack (and magnaflow high flow cat)... the open pipes actually sound quieter, cause they were so loud my camera got all gimpy

PS. ignore the stock catback, it was just hanging there

I am going to a 3" off the Headers Y-ed into a 4", 4" Bullet, and maybe over the Axle and out the back with just a dump that you can't see..

i have an idea, but what exactly is a "dumped" exhaust? basically it doesnt go all the way to the back right?

Kinda, it's turned down somewhere after the Headers, before the Axle.

GA state law prevents us from really getting away with dumped exhaust... especially OBDI cars with the sniffer (such as myself) since they gotta stick that rod up there.

longtubes and bullets with an H-pipe dumped it is amazing. i am thinking of running it out the back though so i can tuck it up better for ground clearance. But i'm scared of it getting any quietter. I love it as loud as it gets!!!!!!
