Default roller rockers..what would do this to them?

I got a set of gm 1.6 full rollers from my friend. They came off his tpi car and since i am helping him tune it, he offered me these in return. I was planning on tossing them on my lt1. They looked great until today when i went to further inspect them and noticed this. The front rockers and rear rockers seem to have it the worst. Some ones in the center clyinders arent as bad, some with nothing at all. What could cause something like this? Are they trash or should i not worry about it?

Looks like he had the wrong degree locks for the retainer. His lock let the valve stem push almost thrugh the lock. He might have been close to dropping a valve. I'd run em, but on a set of heads that are set up right.

dang those got fragged, I agree, looks like the retainer was misaligned for some reason or another and chewed right into the aluminum, hopefully they dont crack on you,

that is why I wouldnt run an aluminum rocker

They are fine to run. I would just smooth that over with a dremel.

They look just like the GM units that I got in my HotCam kit.

I bought a used set of Crane's like that. There were only 2-3 that had some gouging like that, the rest were fine. I think the fella said it had something to do with the valvespring lock rubbing or something like that. I cleaned them up and have been fine ever since. 2,000 plus miles.
