Default question about some headers

I just wonna say Hi im new to the forum, But I was wondering a friend of mine just recently took his long tube headers off of his LS1, my question is, is there anyway you could make them work on an LT1. Thank you any info would help.

welcome

Nope sorry man. And the reason why is that the LS1 has round ports for their headers, our LT1 headers have what is called a "D" port, a D shaped port that bolts up. In a nutshell they will not match up so they will not work.

The LS1 Style Headers are spaced different, they are like a big block.
As far as the Ports go.. the LS1 Headers will work on D-ports, I have to use them for my L92 Heads.

It really isn't going to make that much of a difference..shouldn't leak at all either.

Rule of thumb on an LT1. If the headers are D-port use D-port or round port gaskets. If the headers are square port NEVER use anything but square port gaskets or it will leat like hell.

i think its do-able... in tight budget ways yes... but in realistic and a good tight fit, no...
