Default Car smokin' like a chimney...(VIDEO)

Well I think I somehow managed to blow a head gasket... Heres the video. It only does it when its warmed up and it appears to be white and smells sweet... Let me know what you guys think.

this is the second time for me. I had the heads and block checked last time afterwards and they all looked okay. I even had the heads milled to make sure they were good. Is there a tougher gasket I can go with this time or any tricks to ensure this doesn't happen again?

I'm not sure what I'm running now, the shop did everything last time. So i'm guessing the LT1 Impala gaskets are better because they are meant for Iron heads?

I wouldnt say their "better" everything is prone to failure, but with the trouble your having, the gaskets that is being used def. isnt working. I say its time for something else. My vote is the GM impala gasket, (which will raise compression alittle bit more) or go with the felpro gasket like merv said. (but be warned that they are alittle thicker gasket and i dont know what that will do for you compession wise because the thickness of your gaskets you have now are unknown.)

I just talked to my engine builder and he told me the gaskets I am running right now are Felpro's. Therefore I want to try the Impala ones when I tear the engine down next week. I wanna do it myself this time, are there any write ups on this that are readily available? I'm sure there are, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

id buy the gaskets from SDPC which they sell them for like 29 bucks. also put sealer on the head bolt threads so coolant doesnt work its way past. you might also want to get a new set of arp head bolts since you have to torque them to a high ft. lb. they should also be torqued in a certain sequence (which i cant remember off the top of my head) but i will search online for a write up. if it comes down to it, buy a haynes manual. they have torque specs, sequences, and alot of other info that comes in handy.

Drain oil, look for milkshake.

The thinner head gaskets are good for a few HP and most heads/cam setups do not
run into piston/valve clearance issues. It would be a good idea to mock it up and check
before you torque the heads down.

Get a new bolt kit, you really shouldn't reuse the old ones.

yeap you blew the gasket, excatly what mine looked like when it went.

did you find out what caused it to blow? did you over heat it? are you sure its a bad head gasket that caused it, does your cooling fan's work?
