Lifter Carnage (pics included)
Finally got around to snapping some pics of the lifters that spun. They arent all that great quality but you can see what happened. Looks alot worse in person. You can see metal flakes in the lifter valley if you look at the block shots. I have a question about using link-bar lifters though. Using them essentially gets rid of the keys/spider retainer correct? I assume the only purpose of the keys/retainer would be to keep the lifters lined up in the bores but the link bar will be doing that now so I'm not sure. A local machine shop said they would not work but along with some other things he said I am not sure he knows what he is talking about. enjoy the pics. http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z112/SlowBird311/

I feel your pain man...I havent had anything that bad(knock on wood). But I have had my share of hardships. It does suck to put so much time and money into your car and care for it so much and have trouble with it, esp when you see others that dont care about their crap and have no trouble at all.

Im gonna run the morel link bars but thanks for offering. The lifters took out the cam lobes and the retainer and keys are done. Also chipped the skirts on some pistons. The thing that really sucks is I build the top end and plan to build the bottom this winter. Finish the top break the rear. Put in a 9" and snap the torque arm. Put in a UMI tunnel mount w/dsl and blow the engine. All within 3 mos.
