I don't know what he's doing, but around here you can pick up a fairly low milaege LS1 4L60E for cheap when compared to the cost of a quality rebuild. Most of the used LT1 tranny's are already on their last leg.

So you are planning on using a LS1 Tranny in your LT1 Car?
Except for the Imput Shafts...and Wiring(depending on the year) 
I am going through this right now, converting an LT1 Tranny to LS1 Engine.
