Default What do i need to install cam

Im wanting to put a cam in my basically stock lt1 what do i need for the cam install if i just got a comp cam or something like that? and what stock parts can i use...

You'll need a cam and set of valve springs. While you were in there you should change the timing chain and put in some hardened pushrods.

How stock is it? If it's completely stock you will want to do other things before a cam.

-Cold air intake
-Headers and catback
-Gears (maybe)
-Stall (maybe)

I would say do a lot of reading...first the LT1 newbie stickies up top. If you are going to be looking into valvetrain components, then you would be well served to do tons of research first, or call up a guy who grinds cams all day and let him select all of your parts.

Gonna need Valve springs, Seats, Retainers, Locks(maybe) Replace the timing chain for sure, Hardend pushrods, Rockers(optional) and guid plates....Shane and Johnathan at Thunder set me up with my componets and were loads of help..

I'd change valve seals also, and don't forget gaskets either.
