Mine has never had anything but Mobil 1

Valvoline Synpower 5w30 runs very well in mine. The Oil pressure gauge smooths out. With Conventional it tended to jump a little bit by a couple of pounds at idle. I sometimes use a synthetic additive like lucas but that is every couple of oil changes. Also, it helps with any sort of "tick" from valve train.

Ok, other than the original oil, it's only had mobil 1.

Royal purple did well for the car at 100K! Could definitely feel the difference once I changed over and haven't gone back.

It's an LT1, I'm glad more stays in than out....most of the time.

When they came out with the lt1 for the vette, They recommended mobil 1. And I think to this day its the offical oil for vette engines.

you people break motors in with mobile 1 oil?

if so which one?

.. i have a motor that has never been started and wanna make sure everything is cool. its ben sitting a while.

I used to run Mobil 1. I still do in the wifes car.

Once I started running alot of juice I went to Royal Purple Raceing #51 or 20w-50
