lunati crank and carrillo rod question important
Ok,
well I got a Lunati 1- piece rear main seal 396 crank for the LT1 its the sledgehammer with the 3,85 stroke. The crank has already been turned 40 under and so thats the max but needs another turn. I saw that the carrillo rods have a smaller diameter. Is it possible to have a good shop turn them down more to fit the carrillo rods? Or is it too much for the crank then? Also what is the widhth of the stock rod and will a carrillo fit fit other than the underturn? Thanks any help is appreciated.

So I am assuming the main journals have been turned .040". So the main journals need turned again? Or no? I am also assuming the Carrillos have a 2.00" crank pin. Just turn the rod journals down to 2.00" and don't worry about the main journals as long as they're ok and you have the right oversized bearings.

I have no idea what they'd charge over there, not even sure here cuz I've never had to do it. I'd say $100 at least. They used to run 2.00" rods all the time and the expensive stuff still has the option so I wouldn't worry about turning the rod journals down. I thought about it when a friend was gonna give me a bad crank that had spun a rod bearing.
