Default Cat back or muffler?

I'm planning on redoing my exhaust, putting in headers and a ORY, ill put a cat so i can pass emissions and so im not as loud. My question is would it make more sense to go with a catback or muffler? And if so, what kind. I'm looking for something that is close to stock in terms of noise, but louder when you get on it.

Hooker catback will do what you ask . I have one on mine and love the way it sounds throughout the RPM range.

I had the hooker setup on my old car. It was nice. The stainless steel Corsa on the new car is nicer though

Yep the hooker catback has a hooker aerochamber muffler . They sell them separately , so you dont have to buy a whole catback.

The tips on a hooker catback are 2 1/2" dual/dual

The stock tips on you car now is 2 1/4" I believe . Someone correct me if I am wrong . . .

The hooker catback goes from convertor back . Meaning it hooks up to your stock convertor or y-pipe assembly .

I have the Hooker Aerochamber muffler only on otherwise a stock car minus CAI. It was around the stock noise range when I first got it, but since then it has opened up. It sounds good at idle from behind not much interior noise, just enough for you to hear the rumble . It sounds like an Animal at 4000 under load though

I've got a corsa cat-back on mine, and when it was running also had some edelbrock shorties. It sounded nice and quiet at idle, and then opened up real nice at WOT.

If you want to run a catback with a cat, just have a muffler shop fab it up so that the cat is right after your y-pipe. They will cut the I-pipe in the catback shorter and get everything to fit.

Because GMMG is very expensive.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku $329.95

vs.

Whats the point in spending the other $240 for them just to cut half of it off anyway? Might as well just get the muffler. They already price quoted me at $80 if I bring everything i need welded (minus the extra 3" pipe).
