Unhappy Whistles at WOT!??!?!?

Everyone says my car sounds awesome from the outside but When I'm in the cabin the car sounds like it's whistling above 4000 rpm??? It's still pulling hard it just doesn't have that raw power sound like it does down low, it switchs to a strange whistling roar?? Anyone know what the hell is going on? Am I not getting enough air out or what???

Mine started doing that after I put on my Moroso CAI. I'm pretty sure it's just from the intake sucking in a lot of air...

You have a way to get a soundclip of it..
I had the Lid Conversion on mine, and I never heard anything like that come out of it..

It'd be drowned out by the exhaust on mine. I would need to somehow rig up a recording device under the hood. Which, my MP3 player and this Microphone I have with 2.5" and 3.5" phone plugs (My MP3 player needs the 2.5) comes to mind lol I'll see what I can do, but no promises.

EDIT: Well the mic didn't work, but I forgot my player has a built in one. So I just put it right next to the air filter and got no such whistle from it. So, anyones guess is as good as mine as to what is making the noise. Anyone is welcome to the file, just let me know. I'll edit it for just the part where I tromped it down.

It sounds dumb but I have a peice in my Throttle Body that wedges the air??? Maybe it causes low pressure on the back side and rotates the air in a fashion that **** nits ina bizzle home dog i dunno... its kinda annoying though

It's just an Air Foil, which actually HELPS with the air. But if you don't want it, I'll take it off your hands

Yeah its the first thing I did to the car when i got it, right before I spun the bearing and shattered the second gear drum...

I'll try to get a sound clip, it's almost like the exhaust dissappears and the air monster takes over and is eating my face. Maybe I need and Air Hog to take it on...lol

I really hate running the **** outta the motor though to get a clip of it, I'll have to make it hit about 60 or higher before I can really get into it enough to make it do it without breaking the fricken coopers loose.

lol Martin, you're a riot!! The "coopers" comment makes me laugh every time. (Sad, I know)

Anyways, I noticed, after I recorded it and went to grab some food, that it does whistle more high into 2nd gear more than first gear. I still don't know what it's attributed to! What is still the oddest part to me is it never happened till after I chipped it.

I know what you mean, my guess would be the intake, I noticed mine doing the same thing after I installed my cold air intake, and thats basically the only under the hood mod I have done to the car.

I only have a "ricer" CAI (shush, I bought the car with it lol) and an Aluminum elbow. No air foil, and mine still does it. Remove your air foil and see if it still does it.

I ran across some kids last year, while me and my buddy were driving around in his vette, who basically made their own CAI out of exhaust tubing. I think they made copy cat SLP ones, and HOLY CRAP did those whistle. It was bad ***.

cold air intake

my car did the same thing when I put the CAI on. I took it off and it went away, put it back on it came back. Do a good cat-back and it will go away
I did the SLP LM, and now I can't even hear my wife when she is in the car
