Default more issues with motor delivery

Stopped by the engine shop the other day for an update and was happy when I saw both heads mounted on the block, balancer on, and a sweet timing tab that was custom fabricated onto an aluminum plate that my engine builder did up. looked really nice..... then my builder tells me the bad news....

when mocking up my heads for pushrod clearance with the heads (typical when using the monster manton pushrods we're using) they were using a mockup head gasket (like a spare to protect the head and deck surface).... so everything got mocked up, heads were clearanced for the pushrods and they pressed on..... heads got bolted down after the studs went in and we were golden..... THEN: UH OH...... pushrods don't clear the holes in the head gasket since we're using offset lifters...... MLS gaskets so it isn't something than can be fixed with the heads on the motor... so now the heads gotta come back off, new MLS cometic head gaskets ordered and when they come in they gotta be clearanced first and then heads put back on...... God **** like this pisses me off......

sorry for the rant but getting a race motor built is major league stress.....

yeah thanks guys... it's irritating but i understand how many small things that happen that don't necessarily happen when building your standard small block LT1 designed to make 300-400hp..... you start using offset this and custom that and you start to need some advil...
