Default PLease help just started new 383 Motor!

Please Help i just started my new engine last night and there are a few things wrong.... It seems like it is not firing on all cyliners... I have a brand newopti spark on it new Wires, new plugs, new blaster coil and everthing.. When we first fired it up it was camming/idiling good. Then it started to develop a bad miss and we test drove it. What could it be? Also the guy i go tthe car from before deleted the heater coil and the air bleeding valve as well so i think i have some air pockets in the head as far as that goes. We got a ton of air out like 4 or 5 times, Then the temp if fine for lil bit, then the gauge starts bouncing around like a tach.. someone please help with some input i am dying to have this thing running!!

for a bad miss I would check the spark plug wires. Make sure none are getting burned on a header and double check they are all going to the opti correctly.

Did you fill the overflow tank?Open the radiator cap and let the engine warm up a bit and add water to it and the overflow tank

Yes i got a tune from brian at pcmforless and yeah i opened the radiatior carp and fill the overflow. Yeah i am looking into the burn plug sit. but they were brand new.. Yall have any idea on routing them a diff way? like on top the valve covers then down, Didn;t know if there is a kit out there for that?

the temp gauge bouncing sounds like you still have air in the system. check to make sure all the wires are making good contact too. i cranked my car after doing h/c and it was fine for a bit then starting dying and smoking. the wire was barely on and actually blew off the plug. did it start running shitty when it was at operating temp?

I would say that is started running shitty when it got to temp. Because we let the car idle for like 20 mins to break it in, then when we took it for a test drive it felt fine, but then developed a miss

Have you checked the plug wires yet? You have to tie the wires up real good if you don't use the ovc kit.

Yeah the guy who is putting my motor in is leaning toward a burnt plug wire... So i ordered some header wrap and was going to wrap the headers hoping it would help...
