Please Help!! Lets see how smart you guys are...
Ok, heres the deal, I was ******* around with the ignition switch switching from off to the accessory(the one before the start), but I did it quickly 3 times and now the switch seems, well.. broken. Once you stick the key in there, it seems as if you could turn it all the way now and it won't do nothing!! Do I need to replace the ignition switch or what? I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting but to no avail.

Probably killed the Switch then, or the Metal Rod in the Switch fell out of the slot where it's supposed to go. Does anything turn on when you turn the Key?
I have replaced the Ignition Switch in mine already, took about 45 min, have to take the complete Steering Column out.

No, nothing turns on when I turn the key. Not to mention it goes all the way, it won't even engage in the "accessory" option. Once you stick the key in there, you could turn it about 180degrees without a problem, instead of going through those stages like accessory, then start.

The_merv, I've noticed you've taken yours out. Did you get an original ignition switch, or did you get one at a local auto parts store like autozone? And was it hard to take out the entire steering column?? Shbox.com shows how 2 get it done so I was just wondering how your experience with it was.

Hmm, I think I misread lol. You didn't take the switch off did you? You don't have to pull the column out just drop it down. Granted it is a tight fit but it can be done. I've replaced two ignition switches my car and gf's v6 this way.

Theres only two plugs that go into the switch. Just drop the column down, I'm pretty sure theres just two screws that hold the switch down(one of them also holds headlight dimmer switch). For the back screw I just laid on my back with head towards the pedals. The screws are hex headed also so you can get a wrench on them. Like I said it is a tight fit but I've done it. If you need anymore help just ask.

it turned out to be that the switch was loose with the piece that slides to start the car. I just made sure that they wouldnt get loose again by tightening it securely with wires.
