Default LT1 guys running Juice:) got a couple questions?

i tried posting in the N2O section but people only try selling me kits oh well but here are my questions.i'm kinda new to nitrous although i've helped install a kit with a buddy. anyway.I'm looking for maybe a 100 shot or so and want to know if there is a kit anybody recomend's. i don't want to spend a ton and i'd like it to work good. I've seen a couple kit's on WS6store and thought about looking into the Edelbrock kit there. my mods to my car are as listed: 3.73's, Racetronix P&P kit, MSD blaster, MadZ28 tune, Trickflow elbow with Moroso intake, Pacesetter LT's, Magnaflow catback. I also have others that aren't as inportant but still: Short stick, EGR!, AIR!, TB coolant bypass, New opti,plugs, wires, clutch. Anyway i want to have just enough to put me over the top into the 12's if possible. I hit good low to mid 13's now. Is there anything with one of these specific kits that i should get besides what's included? thanks guys. i know there are probably lots of post's but the search feature and my PayPal account aren't working on my laptop right now so i'm posting anyway. Thanks much~Cole~

if i get a basic kit guys, what other things do you recommend i get to ensure safe usage? like between a wet or dry kit? i'm leaning a wet kit. I've pretty mechanical so i'll have no problems doing a kit but i just want to make sure it's a safe setup. Thanks~COle~

Personally i run a wet kit, a wet kit will be safer than a dry, if you wanna be safe install a
rpm window switch...Have it kick on at 3000 and shut off at 5600 RPM(Your choice).You definitely need colder plugs(NGK TR6's Gapped at .035)...You'll need to retune because you shouldnt run spray on a tune that they probobaly advanced your timing, you'll need to retard your timing...I would go with a 150 shot(as long as you have the fuel pump and tune to go w/ it)...For some serious POOWWAAA!!!

so i can't really run a wet kit well without a tune? i didn't really want to get that far with it, just a quick bang for the buck i was already looking into a window switch and also a blow down tube. i don't know if i really want to get down to the tuning aspect as i'm not looking to dump that much $$ into it.

All you gotta do is pull the timing a couple degrees. I'm running a 150 wet shot right now with a WOT switch and a window switch set at the rpm previously stated

I recommend:

1. Wet Kit. I like NX myself.

2. Colder plugs and tighten the gap a bit

3. RPM window switch

4. For a shot larger than 100 HP, get an MSD with timing retard to take out a couple degrees.

5. Call Nitro Dave's. Sponsor--->

so if i stay with like a 100 wet shot i shouldn't need to retard any timing? i just don't wanna mess with tuning much as i'm not real good at it. I'd like about a 100 shot with good safety equipement and i will get the colder plugs and lower gap. Will that gap be ok for use when i don't want to spray then? thanks for all the help guys. I'm a newb to the gas so i want to do it right but still would like to not spend a small fortune on tuning thanks

You can run a 100 shot no problem. 150's not really a problem either, we just take safety measures to ensure we can still drive the car. You won't notice a difference running TR6s, they're just better for nitrous

Run a new Nitro Dave Plate kit with a Dynojet Wide band Commader and it will be happy powerful and safe.

The WBC will run the entire show.

This should put a car like yours into the 11s easy and safely

what does a wide band commander run and what all does it do? like does it take the place of the window switch and allow you to set it all from there? 11's huh i like the way that sounds...

The WBC is a window switch, WOT switch and by design takes care of the fuel monitoring so no FPSS is needed.

holy **** that thing is spendy so if i don't run that thing i'll need, a window switch, FPSS, and WOT? is the WOT switch neccessary? i hate to ask so many questions. I was looking at this. I need the n2o kit, Window switch and then stuff like FPSS and WOT are recommended or required? i sound so dumb here i just don't know exactly what all to get. i just want to know flat out what i HAVE to have to run it pretty safely and still not spend a fortune. Thanks guys for your patients as i really appreciate it. I'm kinda nitrous dumb but when it comes to engines and everything else i'm good

Actually the WBC is not that expensive for what it does. Nothing will tell you what a Wide Band does.

WOT = Wide Open Throttle
FPSS = Fuel Pressure Safety Switch

You can just install the kit and a button to push. Basic as it getts. Actualy that is what I do and I use the WBC for info so i know it is always jetted right and timing is good.

NO question is to stupid when you are laying you engine on the line.

If you want to run a 100shot you can do it on the stock timing. You may want to check with madz28 to see if he advanced your timing . If not you can run a 150 shot on stock timing. All you really need is a WOT switch, A basic level kit (like the dynotune wet kit), A fpss (for added safety optitional), A bottle heater is nice. I ran a 150 shot on stock fuel pump with no problems. Since your car is a 6 speed a window switch will save the motor If you bog it off the line or miss a gear. Some people tell you to buy everything but some off it is just not needed.

PM me if you want to know more about my set up.

Mallory 685 window swtich, SPARK BASED REV LIMITER, timing retard all in one box.

You miss a shift on the bottle without a window switch and or spark based rev limit you could easily grenade tha motor. The stock rev limit shuts down fuel which is instand death with nitrous.

1. The Mallory 685 Box is one of the first things you should get. Not only will it provide a better spark for N/A power, but it will provide your window switch as well as a timing retard. The timing retard will only be active when the juice is active if you set it up correctly.

2. Fuel Pressure Safety Switch. Hook it up per the instructions.

3. NGK TR6 Plugs. Colder Plugs for nitrous are a good idea. Gap at 35-38

4. Bottle Heater. Keeps the bottle at the correct pressure.

5. Purge Kit. Keeps the air out of the nitrous lines.

6. Nitrous Filter. Keeps any debris from getting to your solenoids and making them stick.

Use the WOT switch for sure.
