negative ghost rider, i tried just loosing it up so i could move it a notch or 2 but one of the bolts is directly under the pump and impossible to get to without taking off the pump.

I just replaced mine with a MSD and yes you definantly have to take off the water and air pump. Just try to hold your wires out of the way of the coolant if you didnt totally drain your car when you take it off...it tends to get quite abit messy. There is 6 bolts that connect the water pump and 4 for the opti.

It fires on the exhuast stroke..YAY!!!

I didnt know you can adjust the timing with a factory unit? On the MSD you can adjust it +/-5, or maybe your opti was just shittin out on you. And seriously if you are gettin another one i would suggest getting a MSD pro billet.
