Default Beat by a BMW???

I can't believe this just got home from being beat by a BMW 735i (new). I had this dude kinda messing with me in town and I kept ignoring him and thought if he goes my way fine I'll take him on the highway. Well he turned my direction and stayed with me neck and neck the whole time, so when the speed limit changed to 65 I gave it a little more gas than normal but not provoking him. Sure enough he stayed with me the again so I thought it was time to put him in his place. It seemed like we both mashed the pedal the same time and I couldn't believe it he started to leave me for about a car and a half up until around 130mph where then I started to close the gap then he backed off. The car was even loaded with four dudes. Are those cars really that fast or do you think it was moded??? My car is a 94 Z auto, long tubes, no cats and a GMMG exhaust, no emissions, SS ram air, and a tune. I believe the rear is either a 3.08 or a 3.42?? Mileage is 157,xxx but still runs extremely strong. I haven't been beat but only a couple of times but this????? What gives?

As far as I know there is no 735i but there is a 745i which has a 4.4l v8 thats pushin around 325hp and 330tq. They weigh in about 4300 fully loaded so I dont know. thats alot of weight with four people in the car. But they do come with a six speed auto.

They did make one, not sure if it was imported into the US. Of course, it could have been a grey market car.
sounds like time for a little upgrade for your car...

Well I was uncertain on the # because of the darkness but that was the car. I should have beat him with those #s. He must have done something to it. I'm now looking into a cam swap. I thought 157,xxx miles would be too much for a cam swap but I just read where a guy has 200k on his with a cam and heads.

If it was new, it might have been a 750, which is no slouch.

It was the funny looking rear end Bimmer, the sedan. You're right about the upgrades! I'm thinking a GM847 and a stall and having it retuned. I can't afford the heads right now. Can my 157k bottom end take it?? Of coarse I will throw in a new chain and valve springs. Dodes anyone have a 847 for sale??

The higher the number Beamer, the more $$ you pay. Generally with Euro cars, the more $$ you pay the more power you get. From time to time, handling is sacrificed, but they tend to do a fair job of power to handling ratio. Lexus, it's usually the higher the number, the more luxury it is, with a little more poop under the hood. After all it is Toyota at heart. They're doing much better now. If I owned a high end BMW, like an M series, I'd toss the series badge it's based on. So if an M6 is a high end 765i, then I'd get those badges, just to be a dick
